ATHLETICS: Hannah's ready for final push in Moscow
9:40am Thursday 15th August 2013 in Sport
HANNAH England has pledged to leave nothing on the track when she competes in tonight’s 1,500m final at the World Championships in Moscow (6.20).
The 26-year-old Oxford City athlete won a silver medal at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, but remains an outside chance to get on the podium again.
England qualified for tonight’s showdown after finishing fifth in her semi-final, clocking 4mins 6.80secs.
And she may need to go close to her personal best of 4.01.89 to challenge for a medal in race where Sweden’s Abeba Aregawi is the big favourite.
England says she has not set a target for the race.
But she stessed: “I am determined to run hard and give it my best shot and walk off the track knowing I had given everything.”
