Steve Blake hit two maximums as Section 2 leaders Marlborough Club maintained their 100 per cent record in the Greene King ODDA Summer League with a 7-2 win over Rileys A.

Rob Hart beat Dan Jones to put the home side ahead, Rileys hitting back as Martin Atherton defeated Derek Lucas.

Blake’s two 180s, plus other wins from Simon Keys and Mark Holton, made it 4-1 before Rileys reduced the deficit via Graham Newbold, who saw off Colin Smith.

A 3-0 pairs win sealed a 7-2 success as Marlborough made it eight out of eight.

Hard on their heels are Rose Hill Community Centre, who stay in touch after a narrow 5-4 victory at Corner House B.

Ampleforth Arms B scored a stunning 8-1 triumph at Donnington Community Centre. Ampleforth’s man-of-the-match was Nigel Hodge, who hit three ton-plus finishes (120, 106, 100).

Democrats stay rooted to the foot of the table after a 5-4 defeat to George Bar A.

Bullnose Morris entertained Black Bull B in Section 3, the visitors taking the lead when Anthony Wheeler defeated Gary Goodall.

Brian Clarke and Mark Wheeler (180) hit back for the home side, only for Black Bull to level it up thanks to Steve Gaisford’s victory over Ian McMurtha.

Graham Clarke and Colin Hinton then won for Bullnose, who edged home 5-4 despite a 2-1 pairs loss.

Vikings Social Club continued their recent good form at home to Marston British Legion A.

Chris Pollard defeated Martin Hutt to put Vikings ahead, Mick Hutt beating Gavin Stubbs to square it up.

Vikings then stormed ahead 4-1 through Sean Stratford, John Merrett and Sean Pollard before Andy Warden got the better of Vic Brown to narrow the gap.

A 3-0 pairs success wrapped it up 7-2.

This week’s highest out-shot went to Tony Knight in Section 8.

Playing for Fairview Inn, he hit 60, 60 and double 14 for a 148 finish as his side defeated Three Horseshoes 6-3.

Priory Inn continued their fine run with a 7-2 success over visitors Crown House Club.

In the ladies’ league, Berinsfield Community Centre entertained Section 2 leaders Crown Inn, taking the opening game when Danielle Chewings beat Amie Coles.

Emma Arnold’s victory levelled matters before Jeanette Bowler and Nina Chewings put Berins-field 3-1 up.

Jenny Price defeated Sharon Ingram to pull one back, only for the home side to go 4-2 up when Ann-Marie Rawlings beat Natasha Watts.

Despite losing the pairs 2-1, Berinsfield took the honours 5-4.

Gladiators came from behind to defeat Black Horse 6-3 at home.
