Oxfordshire are still chasing their first win in the ECB Women’s County Championship Division 3 after losing by 156 runs to Derbyshire at Bicester on Sunday.
Derbyshire posted 274-8 from their 50 overs while Oxon struggled to 118 in reply.
Oxon made a good start as Heather Lang caught Rachel Hopkins for four, but Derbys soon began to find their stride.
They were 75-5 after the quickfire dismissals of Rebecca Vernon and Lucy Antclliffe, but Lia Kellogg and Sarah Sribala-Sundaram frustrated Oxon’s bowlers with a partnership of 150.
Kellogg was eventually bowled by Genny Porter for 82 and Sribala-Sundaram followed for 52.
Oxon’s openers Porter and Rhian Todd put on 43.
But after the loss of Porter for a top-scoring 32, Oxon crumbled, with Heather Lang the only batter to reach double figures as the hosts stuttered to 118, being bowled out in just 41 overs.
