Oxford's Bradley Smith will be looking to secure his first MotoGP finish in the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas tomorrow following his disastrous debut in Qatar.
The 22-year-old, from Forest Hill, crashed out on lap five when in 11th place after impressive practice and qualifying sessions on his Monster Tech 3 Yamaha.
However, the team’s preparations haven’t been helped by a small fire breaking out inside their pit garage.
A battery charger caught fire, damaging computer equipment and triggering the Texas circuit’s sprinkler system.
But Smith and teammates Cal Crutchlow’s bikes were undamaged.
The race is live on BBC 3 (7.30-9pm).
