CRICKET: Taylor set to face students

MATT Taylor has been named in the Gloucestershire squad to face Oxford MCCU in today’s season opener in The Parks (11.30).

The 18-year-old Oxfordshire seamer, who came through the ranks at Great & Little Tew CC, signed a three-year contract with Gloucestershire in September.

Taylor is joined by ex-Oxon junior Daniel Housego and former Oxford MCCU duo Richard Coughtrie and Ed Young in the visitors’ squad for the 40-over friendly.

Oxford MCCU: from L Sabin, T Fell, W Marriott, H Edwards, S Davidson, C Bodenstein, C Morris (capt), A Neale, J Thompson, B Kemp, M Kidd, A Martin.

Gloucestershire: from H Marshall (capt), C Dent, D Housego, A Gidman, G Roderick, W Gidman, E Young, R Coughtrie, G McCarter, D Payne, M Taylor, C Herring.
