MOTOR CYCLING: Bradley ready for final testing

BRADLEY Smith will put the finishing touches to his MotoGP preparations at the final pre-season test this weekend.

It is less than three weeks before the Oxford rider makes his debut at the opening round in Qatar, so the trip to Jerez offers a last chance to get up to speed.

The 22-year-old is still getting to grips with the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha, which is vastly more powerful than the Moto2 machine he rode last season.

But after encouraging top-ten finishes in the first two tests in Malaysia, Smith is keen to keep improving at the three-day session, which starts at the Spanish circuit on Saturday.

He said: “Testing’s gone better than expected – not exceptional, but it has gone well and we are on track.

“I’m quite excited about that and knowing there is more to come from me and the bike, it’s a nice feeling.”
