OXFORD University recorded their third consecutive Varsity Match victory with a superb display at The Corn Exchange, Cambridge.

The 6-4 win levelled the overall match standings at 51-51, with four draws.

Mikey Davis (Balliol) put the Dark Blues ahead with a unanimous victory in the featherweight contest, before James Watson (Corpus Christi) stopped his rival in the lightweight division.

Oxford captain Tom Eliasz (Worcester) was beaten, however, in the light welterweight clash as the hosts reduced the deficit to 2-1.

But Varsity debutant Conor Husbands (St Edmund Hall) stopped crowd favourite Sebastian Pender in the third round of their welterweight bout to restore the two-point margin.

Daniel Bailey (Exeter) lost a brutal light middleweight encounter to William Nyerere Plastow, but in the first middleweight contest, Zac Sammour (Somerville) comprehensively outpointed former Dark Blue Borna Gueval to make it 4-2.

Two home wins saw the scores level at 4-4, but Harry Miller (Wadham) settled the destination of the Truelove Bowl with a clinical points victory over Tinashe Murozoki.

Miller picked off his opponent with his superior range on the way to an impressive success. In the final bout of the evening, Larry Kotch (Green Templeton) stopped his Cambridge opponent Dan Fountain in the third round.
