LITTLEMORE AS finished their match programme with the Mick Whipp Cup on Club Lake, part of the Orchid Lakes complex, where the 13 anglers produced 92lb 1.0oz of fish.
A bitterly cold easterly wind made life tough, but once again Brian Hutchings made light of it, completing a hat-trick of wins with 23.10.0 of bream, skimmers and roach on the pole with red maggot.
To cap an excellent day, he also won the Prior Cup series and the £103 golden peg.
Mark Shepherd had a similar net, plus two bonus tench, on the same tactics for 22.4.0, while Pete Clarke had silvers and two bream for 17.4.0.
Littlemore’s AGM is at the George, Littlemore, on Sunday, March 24 (12 noon). All members welcome.
Sutton Courtenay AC’s finale was on the Otneys stretch of the Thames where seven anglers fished.
All but two weighed in, mostly with bream on feeder and maggot. Mike Seer triumphed with 16.7.0 of bream, followed by Gary Stafford with 16.2.0 and Enzo Granito with 7.14.0.
Tackley Estates fished the Cherwell at Hog’s Bottom, where five of the eight blanked.
Tim Wray had two chublets on legered bread for a winning 1.5.0, followed by Stephen Malone with 1.3.0 and Anthony Alder with 12 ounces.
