Oxford Hawks ladies slumped to a 2-0 defeat away to already-relegated Bromley & Beckenham, who recorded their first win in Investec Conference East at the 16th attempt.

Bromley belied their league position and put Hawks under pressure from the start. A perfectly executed short-corner routine gave them a tenth-minute lead, and a scrappy goal against the run of play in the second half made it 2-0.

Hawks continued to press, but could not break down the home defence.

Oxford proved too strong for Southampton in Division 2 of the South Clubs League, recording a handsome 4-1 away victory Bubble Baddeley’s fine finish gave them the lead and Kim Haynes added a second before half-time. Southampton reduced the arrears, but Oxford’s pressure told as Caro Harris and Catherine Reaney found the net to wrap up thee points. Goals from Katie Smith and Hayley Card ended Oxford 2nd’s run of three defeats as they drew 2-2 with Hampstead & Westminster 2nd South Division 3A.

Witney’s fine run in this division continued with a 2-1 win over Milton Keynes, both goals coming in the first half via Izzy Hayes and Sabrina Shortland. Milton Keynes came back strongly, scoring midway through the second half, but Witney held on.
