ANGLING: Holyfield and Dearlove to the fore

The local branch of the GB Pike Angling Club held a fish-in at Horseshoe Lake, near South Cerney.

Charlie Holyfield caught specimens of 19lb 6oz and 10.0.8, while Norman Dearlove landed three fish of 8, 11 and 12lb. The rest of the nine anglers blanked.

Best fish so far this season are: stillwater – Tony Hallatt 26.13.0, river – Norman Dearlove 14.4.0, junior – Ryan Styles 11.0.0.

The club’s next meeting is on Thursday, April 11 at Oxford City FC (7.30), which is also their trophy presentation night.

Guest speaker is Dave Horton.
