Aston Rowant trainer Alan Hill has a strong hand for the first point-to-point meeting of the year at nearby Kingston Blount tomorrow – and his trump card could be Harbour Court.

The seven-year-old, a winner of three of his four career starts, is being aimed at the Connolly’s Red Mills Intermediate Final at Cheltenham on May 1.

And he can qualify for that contest when taking in the intermediate race at the Kingston Blount Racing Club fixture.

The Karinga Bay gelding’s rivals could include Salt And Vinegar, who is unbeaten in two previous visits to the track.

Start Royal, from Hill’s yard, is likely to make a bold bid for a 12th win between the flags in the men’s open.

The Aston Rowant handler also has Alpha Native and Ocean Du Moulin entered here together with Ravethebrave, although the latter is likely to head for a hunters’ chase this weekend.

Lady Myfanwy is set to bid to win the ladies’ open for the third year in a row.

The 12-year-old, trained by Myfanwy Miles at Kilgetty in Pembrokeshire, warmed up for her defence of the trophy by chasing home The General Lee at Ludlow last week.

The first of seven scheduled races is at 1pm.
