Chapman's Oxford United future in doubt after loan

Adam Chapman is on loan at Mansfield
ADAM Chapman could have played his final game for Oxford United after joining Mansfield Town on loan yesterday.
The deal is until the end of the season, but with a view to making the move permanent this summer.
If the Stags can agree a transfer, it would mean Chapman’s four-year stay with the U’s ended on a low note.
The 23-year-old started the 2-1 win against Port Vale, but was substituted for tactical reasons just before half-time and was left out of United’s 18-man squad for Tuesday’s 4-0 defeat at home to Rotherham.
The midfielder signed a new two-year contract following prolonged negotiations last summer and made 34 appearances this season.
But despite regular football in recent months, the ex-Sheffield United trainee has arguably struggled to fulfil his potential.
He went straight into the Stags’ team for last night’s Blue Square Bet Premier trip to Woking.

In the old TV program Dad's Army there was a saying "were dooomed" and with Wilder we are, he lets Chappers go and brings in some loser who is not fit and has no idea of the team in Davies.
Heslop should be doing porridge, the only decent player we have is Whing.
Taxi for Wilder, Lewis and Melville.
As the article says, he has struggled to fulfil his potential and it was that potential that made Wilder sign him.
There might be things that can be laid at the door of the manager but this isn't one of them.

At least Chapman has a good history, i can forgive a few bad games.

Chapman has clearly become disillusioned with things at Oxford and a break from the club is probably best for all concerned. He is now nearer to home and in Adam Murray, has re-united with his mentor from when he first arrived at OUFC. Good luck to him, I hope he is a success there and Mansfield get out of that League.
We are now another body down in an area of the field where we are crying out for someone who is fit, can get the ball down and play a bit. Getting rid of Chapman will only be justifiable if there is a replacement lined up.
My worry is that Wilder has made this decision and basically said to Chapman (who has another year on his contract) he will never play for Oxford again. Wilder should not be the man making these decisions - he will be gone in May - shame it wasn't him going out the door. He clearly feels that Chapman is a disruptive influence in the dressing room, but how much of that is down to the manager? It is not the first time he has fallen out with players and bundled them out the door.

Now we have no-one at all to create anything: Alfie is going to have to come and collect the ball if he wants any chances!
The whole feeling around the place is very dispiriting indeed: Gillingham and Port Vale just a mirage now

A terrible decision by Wilder though. He should be sacked immediately to stop him from ruining our squad any further. He doesn't care about next season because he knows he will be gone.
