OXFORDSHIRE’S Jessie Flowers, Olivia Jones and Tilly Vaughan-Fowler will represent the South West in the RFU Women and Girls Divisional programme on Sunday.
Fly half Flowers (Oxford University) is in the senior line-up to face the Midlands at Frome. Wallingford No 8 Olivia Jones is in the under 18 side to take on the same opponents, while clubmate Vaughan-Fowler is a replacement.
The divisional programme’s ultimate aim is to produce future England internationals.
CATHERINE Forteath has become Witney RFC’s first female life member. Forteath, who has played 159 times for the club’s ladies’ team Witney Angels, has been a virtual ever present for 15 years.
The stalwart, who also plays hockey for Wychwood Ladies, has also served in a number of committee roles.
On Sunday, Forteath helped second-placed Witney beat visitors Oxford 29-7 in National Conference South East West 2.
Shellie Tungeland, Pip Timmins, Louise Gray, Jen Nicolson and Sally Thornton scored Witney’s tries, with Gray and Emma Patterson converting one each.
Naomi Ekers crossed over for Oxford, with Kerry Stacey converting.
OXFORD University’s women bagged a Varsity Match double over Cambridge at Grange Road.
The Dark Blues won the first-team match 15-5, with prop Jessamy Tyrrell, Reem Hafez and Georgia Rought-Whitta scoring their tries.
Oxford Panthers saw off Cambridge Tigers 29-5 in the second-team match.
