BANBURY Under 12s lifted their third Land Rover Premiership Cup in two seasons on Sunday when they won the pre-match tournament at Northampton Saints.

The nationwide competition provides youngsters with the chance to showcase their skills while playing for the title of regional champions.

Banbury retained their title in beating a previously-undefeated Kettering 15-0 in a one-sided final, with two tries from Nick Dawkins, plus one from Ben Gordon.

Their squad were presented with their medals at Frank-lin’s Gardens during the half-time interval of the Northampton v Bath Premiership match.

Banbury will also travel to Twickenham in May when they will take part in a parade of champions before the Aviva Premiership final.

There was more cup success for Banbury at the weekend, with their under 17 side reaching the semi-finals of the National Bowl (South).

Banbury saw off visitors Taunton 40-5, with Tom Letch (3), Ed Yeates (2) and Sean Hampson scoring their tries.

Alex Caviezel Cox converted five from six attempts.
