EARLY goals from Katie Stanley and Natasha Caswell saw Oxford United into the FA Women's Cup fifh round for the first time.

The ladies' debut at the Kassam Stadium got off to a flying start, when Caswell found Stanley, who superbly opened the scoring with a lob on eight minutes.

Caswell added a second goal with a low shot from the edge of the box inside the opening quarter of an hour.

Newcastle, who play their league football a division higher, were second best for the opening 45 minutes, but came alive after the interval.

Jess Havelock pulled a goal back six minutes after the restart to get them back in the game.

But the U's, marshalled by skipper Sahara Osborne-Ricketts, stood firm to keep out the visitors.

Dan Anderson, Lauren Allison and Holly Pickett all had chances to make it 3-1 late on, but it was not costly.

They can now look forward to the fifth round draw, when the Women's Super League sides enter the competition.
