City of Oxford’s 2011 World Championship silver medallist Hannah England (pictured) makes her first appearance of the year when she competes in the 1500m race at the British Athletics Grand Prix in Birmingham today.
One of her opponents, Ethiopian Genzebe Dibaba, will be aiming to beat the world record of 3mins 58.28secs. Oxfordshire’s Lawrence Clarke, who finished fourth in the 110m hurdles at the London Olympics, also makes his seasonal debut in a 60m hurdles field which includes the European champion Sergey Shubenkov.
