Robert Watson (+40) racked up a break of 56 to help Division 2 leaders Eynsham to a surprise 2-1 win at home to Division 1 high-fliers Riley A in the Gentworks Oxford & District League.

Watson brushed aside Malcolm Bough (+20) 200-86 to clinch victory.

Michael McCluskey (+120) had given Eynsham the lead with a 100-66 victory against Allan Copelin (+120), before Lewis Moss (+20) levelled by beating Geoff Watson (+110) 200-149.

RESULTS

Oxford Bowls 1, Abingdon Con Club 2; Thame 1, Cowley Con Club A 2; Eynsham 2, Riley A 1; Riley B 1, Fieldside 2; Ashton 3, New Club 0.
