Richards avoids surgery but remains ruled out for Oxford United

JUSTIN Richards's knee injury is not as severe as first thought, but he will still miss the rest of Oxford United's season.

The striker damaged a cruciate knee ligament in last Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Bristol Rovers.

It was initially thought he would need an operation, which would rule him out for six months.

But a follow-up today has shown surgery is not needed, although the 12-week rehabilitation means he will not play again in the regular season.

Hook him out then, we don't need him, bring Tyrone back from Staines.

Problem with that big Al is we signed him. We can't just send him back to Burton as he is no longer their player. We would still have to honour his contract sadly.

Finally, we get the frontman with strength and hold up play in his locker - the player the fans have been crying out for - and he lasts four games.

I'm begining to think there may be some substance in this Gypsy Curse.
