RUGBY UNION: Canterbury's comeback threat
CHINNOR must be wary of tomorrow’s visitors Canterbury, if they are to collect a second successive win in National 2 South.
That is the view of head coach Jason Bowers in light of the Kent club’s efforts last week.
“Canterbury will be coming here full of confidence after coming from behind to beat Hartpury College last week,” said Bowers.
“They were 26-0 down at half-time, but won 31-29.
“Hopefully, we can use the Kingsey Road factor to stop them doing that to us.
Lock Andy Smith returns, but flanker Evan Sawyer is away.
Alex Waddingham, another flanker, faces a late fitness test.
Jevon Marsh makes his Henley Hawks debut at centre for their trip to Lydney.
Marsh joined from Redingensians last summer, but was abroad until Christmas.
Will Woodward replaces Ryan Newman (hamstring) at openside flanker On-loan Wasps duo Will Robinson and Jonah Holmes start at half back, with captain Tom Allen moving to centre.
Flanker Kenny Calladine makes his first start as Oxford Harlequins visit Malvern in National 3 South West.
Lock Will Clayton and scrum half Jack Cosins return, while forwards Chris Davies and Ollie Rees are on the bench.
Captain Harry Whittington moves to the wing, with JJ Baird switching to centre.
Quins beat Malvern in October, so are hunting a double.
“This is the must-win game,” said Quins head of rugby Steve Chadbone.
“We feel we underperformed in the first half against Brixham last week and we need to hit the ground running.”
Centre Rich Stratford and wing Lee Douglas replace James Lamb and Lewis Collins for Witney’s trip to Reading in South West 1 East.
