NEW Oxford Rugby League recruit JJ Baird hopes to boost his international claims after signing for the club.
Baird, 24, represented Ireland at student and A level before moving to Oxford from Antrim Eels.
“My ambition is to play as many games for Oxford as possible and to be involved with the Irish A team set-up again,” he said.
A centre or second row in rugby league, Baird is keeping fit by playing on the wing for rugby union side Oxford Harlequins.
