Didcot Town’s hopes of reaching the Southern League’s Red Insure Cup semi-finals were dashed last night with a crushing 6-0 defeat at Premier Division Arlesey.
Didcot coped well until the 41st minute when Chris Dillon forced home. In the second half, however, Didcot capitulated, conceding five goals to Dillon again, Cameron Mawer, Ollie Thorne, Ricky Miller and Leon Hibbert.
An injury-time goal from John Mills, set up by Jacob Walcott, gave North Leigh a 1-0 home victory over Cirencester Town in Division 1 South & West.
Sam Collyer hit a post for Cirencester in the first half and Stuart Hole saw his second-half penalty saved before Mills snatched the winner.
An Aaron Woodley penalty in the 44th minute gave Abingdon United their first point in seven games with a 1-1 draw at Eversham, who missed a late spot-kick of their own.
Kidlington went ahead with a superb individual goal from Jack Dunmall after six minutes, but lost 2-1 to Banbury United in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup quarter-final.
Chris Lait made it 1-1 with a 25-yard free-kick on 20 minutes and thenKynan Isaac put the visitors ahead.
Banbury’s Scott Bridges was sent off before the break, but Kidlington could not make the extra man count.
