FOOTBALL: Oxford City keep fingers crossed on Basham
10:00am Wednesday 6th February 2013 in Sport
OXFORD City are likely to be without Steve Basham when they host Histon in Blue Square Bet North tonight.
The striker had to come off during their 6-2 win over Hinckley with a recurrence of a calf injury.
While delighted with his side’s six-goal haul, boss Mike Ford said the goals they conceded after the break could be a blessing in disguise.
“I think if we had won 10-0, the players may have thought all they had to do was turn up against Histon,” said Ford. “That’s kept our feet on the ground.”
