Didcot Town could give a debut to former Leeds United youngster Tom Wray when they travel to Premier Division Arlesey Town in the Southern League’s Red Insure Cup fourth round tonight.

The Irish defender, 29, who has been playing for Ryman League Premier Division side Leiston, will be added to the squad should the paperwork be completed in time.

“He flagged up on the Hellenic League website that he was looking to play for a club in the area,” said boss Gary Elkins.

“Andy Lyne (Didcot’s general manager) picked up on it and we invited him to come down.

“He was a scholar at Leeds and then he played in Ireland for a few years.

“He’s a strong, Irish lad of 6ft 2ins. He’s played at centre half, central midfield and a few games up front.”

Didcot’s only doubt is Joel Meade, who picked up a knock in Saturday’s 4-1 win against Tiverton Town.

Banbury United boss Edwin Stein has warned his players against complacency ahead of their trip to Uhlsport Hellenic League side Kidlington in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup fourth round.

“We will be putting a strong side out with the intention of getting the job done,” he said.

“Kidlington will give us problems and if my players think all they have to do is run around a bit, then they have got another thing coming.”

North Leigh boss Mark Gee is looking to the twin threat of John Mills and Conor McDonagh to fire them back to winning ways at home to Cirencester Town in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West.

On Saturday, North Leigh went down to a 2-0 defeat at home to Taunton Town.

“We have got to get out of this rut, so we will be changing our shape a little by putting Mills up front with McDonagh rather than playing with one up front,” he said.
