Oxfordshire Cup
TWO tries from centre Adrian Hales helped Chinnor 2nd power into the club’s fourth successive final with 27-8 victory over Witney at Kingsey Road.
They will now face either Wallingford or Oxford University Greyhounds at Iffley Road on Sunday, April 21 seeking a fourth win in a row.
Chinnor took the lead on 16 minutes when lock Jack Horwood scored in the corner.
Witney replied with a penalty from fly half Henry Lamb, but then had hooker Ryan Harris sin-binned for a dangerous tackle.
Hales’s first try, after a slick handling move, made it 10-3 at half-time.
The visitors raised their game and a try from full back James Monks reduced the arrears to 10-8.
Chinnor took control with three tries, while Witney prop Jamie Burke was yellow-carded.
Prop Tom Whelan was driven over, with wing Alex Woodhouse converting.
Hales beat five defenders for a great solo try and replacement Harry Hillier struck late on to wrap it up for Chinnor.
