Wamtage-based Alastair Rushforth Motorsport are eager to build on their successful 2012 season by achieving victories in all three classes in this year’s MG Trophy series.

Team principal Rushforth (pictured), who finished fourth in the MG Trophy, will be racing an MGZR 160 in the 2013 series.

Partnering him will be Jay Mooney, who last year progressed from novice status and finished in the top ten of the MG Owner’s Club Championship.

Alex Flower will begin his first full season this year in an MGZR 105 after a successful debut at Snetterton last year.

The Metro drivers feature Alastair’s brother, Matt, who took part in two race meetings in 2012, and Simon Wilson, who finished in the top ten of the MG Metro Cup.

Joining them will be rookie Ollie Coles, who made his debut in 2012’s final meeting at Snetterton, and Richard Devine, who is building his own Metro to race in the championship.

Racing alongside them will be Jon Gould in an MGZR 105.

Alastair Rushforth is optimistic.

“The new drivers are a great addition to an already strong line-up,” he said.

Pre-season testing is due to take place in early March. The race season begins at Derbyshire’s Donington Park on Sunday, April 7.
