Aston Rowant batsmen Chris Watling and Tim Morgan have been selected to play in the African Premier League in Tanzania, which is due to start on Thursday.
The pair have been called up to play for one of the local franchises after a successful MCC tour to Tanzania in October.
That came on the back of both players having strong seasons in Division 2 West of the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League where they were both among the leading run scorers.
The competition, which attracted the likes of former International players Steve Tikolo and Thomas Odoyo last year, will include professional players from India, South Africa and Kenya.
With other experienced professionals expected to be involved this year, and tough playing conditions, the duo are under no illusions about the task ahead.
Watling said: ‘We’re anticipating some big names to be involved, so the level of cricket will be high.
“Hopefully we can go out there and give a good account of ourselves.
“A lot will depend on how well we adapt to conditions. Whatever happens, it will be a great experience.”
