SWIMMING: On-song City trio make the grade

City of Oxford’s Elizabeth Oliver, Maia Little and Lucy Smith recorded national qualifying times (NQTs) in the City of Derby Long Course Meet at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
Little, 12, posted a time of 2mins 56.27secs in the 200m breaststroke, one second inside the NQT. She is also 0.46 of the 100m breaststroke NQT with a time of 1.22.97.
Oliver, 15, in an exciting 400m freestyle race, recorded an excellent 4.29.91 and Smith, 15, swam 1.05.84 for the 100m butterfly – both NQTs.
Earlier at the meet, Oliver and Smith were fractions of the NQT for the 100m freestyle, recording personal bests of 1.00.89 and 1.00.63, respectively.
