THREE matches involving local clubs fell victim to Tuesday’s rain.
Oxford United were forced to postpone their FA Youth Cup third-round tie with Barnsley after heavy rain in the build-up to the game left the pitch at Thame United’s ASM Stadium unplayable. It meant a frustratingly fruitless long journey for the Yorkshire outfit and it is the second time the fixture has had to be rearranged.
The original date last week was called off because of a frozen pitch. No date has yet been fixed for the rematch. Meanwhile, the two matches in Division 1 South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League were also called off early in the evening.
Abingdon United were due to visit Bishops Cleeve, while North Leigh were at Swindon Supermarine.
