BOWLS: Central stalwart Norton dies at 78

Banbury Central stalwart Peter Norton died on Monday at the age of 78.
Norton, of Banbury, was a member of the Central side, which won the Oxfordshire fours title in 2007.
He also captured the Oxfordshire Bowling Association’s Longford Cup in 2003 and 2006 for over 60s players, and skipped the Central side, which finished runners-up in the county triples final in 2003.
He leaves a widow Anne, a daughter Linda and a son Michael.
A funeral service will be held at St John’s Church, South Bar, Banbury, next Thursday (11am).
