Supersubs Chris Lait and Nabil Sharif were on target as Banbury United scored two late goals to come from behind to beat AFC Totton 2-1 in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division on Tuesday night.

The visitors went ahead on 22 minutes when Michael Gosney cut in from the left and fired home, but Banbury equalised when Lait curled home a free-kick in the 73rd minute.

And five minutes later, Sharif, who had only been on the pitch for three minutes, was on hand to convert Lait’s cross and seal a tremendous victory.

Didcot Town fell to a fifth successive Division 1 South & West defeat as they went down 4-0 to leaders Poole Town at the Loop Meadow Stadium.

A ninth-minute goal from Michael Walker put Poole in command at the break.

And it was all over for the Railwaymen in the second half as two mistakes from goalkeeper Marco Belloli-Periera gifted the visitors two goals via Michael Charles (60) and Carl Preston.

A fourth from Luke Burbidge two minutes from time completed Didcot’s unhappy night.
