Coneygree gave another demonstration of his star potential by completing a hat-trick of wins in the Grade 2 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday.
The five-year-old, from Mark Bradstock’s Letcombe Bassett stables, near Wantage, relished the step up to three miles as he made all the running under Mattie Batchelor to beat Aerial by six lengths.
Bradstock commented: “As Mattie said, he always wanted to go a bit faster, and he was going quite a lick as it was on that ground.”
- NO No Bingo, trained by Charlie Longsdon at Chipping Norton, was among the winners as Hereford staged its final meeting yesterday before closing down.
