North Leigh 1

(Hole 90+3)

Mangotsfield Utd 1

(Hunt 73)

Stuart Hole headed an equaliser three minutes into time added on to earn North Leigh a draw in their Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West clash with Mangotsfield United at Eynsham Park.

North Leigh had the better chances in the opening exchanges with a Michael Hopkins shot parried by keeper Kevin Sawyer.

Kieran Sanders was then unlucky to see his low shot deflected off Sawyer, before the keeper collected it at the second attempt.

For Mangotsfield, Tom Parrinello pulled a good chance wide, before Zak Westlake’s last-ditch tackle denied Ben Hunt as he raced towards goal.

The visitors continued to hold the upper hand in the second half with wingers Kyle Tooze and Parrinello putting in some dangerous crosses.

Todd Winter went close with a snap shot from the edge of the penalty area, before North Leigh brought on Conor McDonagh, a new signing from Witney Town, for his debut.

But on 73 minutes, Mangotsfield broke the deadlock when Hunt fired a shot across Sam Warrell and into the far corner.

North Leigh raised their game and Sawyer made a brilliant save to tip over Hole’s free-kick.

But Hole wasn’t to be denied and his far-post header from a corner in injury time salvaged a point.

North Leigh: Warrell, Hole, Organ, Turk, Franklin, Westlake, Walcott, Alexis (Else 83), Brooks, Sanders (McDonagh 69), Hopkins (Mills 74). Sub not used: Coyle.
