Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon was out of luck with his five-horse raid on Musselburgh, but Cross Of Honour came up trumps at Fakenham yesterday.
The five-year-old was the lone traveller from Hull Farm Stables to the Norfolk course.
And Richard Johnson’s mount made the trip pay with a game half-length victory over Frontier Spirit in the handicap chase over two miles and an extended five furlongs.
Pure Style and Hazy Tom were hot favourites to score for Longsdon in Scotland, but both found one too good in Waltz Darling and Swift Arrow respectively.
