CHIPPING Norton boosted their BB&O Premier Division promotion hopes with a 44-12 victory at Phoenix.

Dean Beauchamp and Matt Dawson grabbed two tries apiece as Chippy went five points clear in second.

Sam Townsend, Lee Tustin and Neil Stannard also went over, while Darren DeBruyn was sin-binned.

Barry Nutt kicked three conversions and a penalty.

Captain Tim Ellis’s penalty earned Gosford All Blacks an 8-8 draw at Littlemore.

Littlemore took the lead with a pushover try from Darren Warne, but centre Chris Bennett equalised.

Ben De’Figuieredo slotted a penalty for Littlemore before Ellis earned the draw.

Bicester secured a bonus point in their 30-23 defeat at Princes Risborough.

The visitors led 18-11 and 23-18, but could not hold on.

Tries from Mike Harris and Dave Aslett, plus a Tom Bass conversion and penalty, put Bicester 15-8 up at the break.

Liam Roads went over for Risborough, while Nick Grimsdell slotted a penalty.

Yamika Banda scored for Bicester in the second half, Bass adding a penalty, but tries from Grimsdell, Tom Slade and Dan Brown, plus two Grimsdell conversions and a penalty won it.

Hooker Ian Empson’s try and Jack Robinson’s penalty proved in vain as Harwell lost 25-8 at Hungerford.

Andy Tippet’s two tries helped maintain Wheatley’s 100 per cent home record in the Championship with 30-17 win over Abingdon.

Wing Robert Tyreman scored twice and fly half Mark Roberts kicked seven points for Abingdon, who led 10-8 at half-time.

Jordan Mayling, Ben Kesley and Lewis Mayling also went over for Wheatley.

Jason Laman kicked a penalty and a conversion.

Didcot were edged out 23-20 at home to Chesham.

Joe Leverson, Sam Lacy and Paul Costello scored tries, with Josh Witts adding a penalty and a conversion.
