Justin Lee has resigned as manager of Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division outfit Witney Town.
The former Oxford City midfielder had taken over the helm after Justin Merritt resigned.
“I regret that I have made the decision to resign as manager,” he said in a statement.
“My decision has not been easy. However, circumstances at the club have proven influential in prohibiting what I feel a successful football club requires as a sound foundation for both players and staff. “My time here has been memorable and I thank each individual player for their commitment and honesty.
“In addition, the coaching staff who devoted time and professionalism to the club.” Lee’s decision to quit came after Conor McDonagh scored a four-timer in Witney’s 7-0 thrashing of Chalfont Wasps in Saturday’s Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup third-round.
James Dobson netted two penalties, with Adam Morris completing the rout.
