Andy Triggs Hodge’s presence at the Oxfordshire Sports Awards was quite a coup.
The rower had been in Bath all day training for a one-off 2012 Superstars special, due to be broadcast on Boxing Day.
But Triggs Hodge got a lift back to Oxford to pick up his Sportsman of the Year award, before going back down the M4 later that night where filming for the television programme started early the next day.
Triggs Hodge was one of 16 Olympians taking part in eight events – the 100 metres, 800m, javelin, 50m swim, archery, kayaking, a cycling hill climb, and culminating in gym tests.
