Midlands 2 West
BANBURY Bulls secured their first win since September to defeat Newbold-on-Avon 28-12 at Bodicote Park.
Left wing Matt Smith, outside centre Dave Taylor and right wing Josh Deegan scored Banbury’s tries, while captain Eddie Phillips kicked two conversions and three penalties.
Banbury are now just a point behind eighth place and Phillips said things were finally looking up for his side.
“It was a great performance, something that we know we are capable of on more than just a one-off occasion,” he said.
“We have been putting a lot of hard work in.
“It’s easier for the hard work to continue when you start getting something for it as we have in the last couple of weeks with a losing bonus point away from home last week and the win this over Newbold.
“We now need to show it more often and try and sting a few more wins together.”
