FOOTBALL: Forbes fires Nomads to victory

Cory Forbes grabbed Oxford City Nomads’s winner in a 3-2 victory at Kidlington in one of only two Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division games to survive the deluge.
Tom Austin, who joined Kidlington recently from Clanfield, put the hosts ahead in the fifth minute.
Nomads levelled through Andrew Styles after 28 minutes, before Adam Lovegrove gave them the lead a minute into the second half.
Jack Johnson equalised after 61 minutes, but Forbes struck the winner a minute later.
Thame United let slip a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw against Highworth Town at the ASM Stadium.
Ellis Hercules opened the scoring in the 25th minute, and Niall Hodgkins doubled Thame’s advantage in the 53rd minute.
But Steve Robertson, returning to the Highworth ranks after a spell at Shrivenham, pulled a goal back in the 68th minute, and Aaron Maximen equalised two minutes from time.
Headington Amateurs took advantage of Rayners Lane’s inactivity to draw within a point of the Division 1 East leaders following a 2-0 home win over Chalfont Wasps.
Tom Payne headed home Ollie Zaja’s corner after 40 minutes, before Luke Cuff’slow drive sealed victory in the 71st minute.
Milton United squandered a two-goal cushion in a 2-2 draw at Didcot Town Res.
Joe Parker scored in the sixth and 65th minutes to put Milton in charge.
But Marc Piper reduced the deficit after 70 minutes, and Jamie Newport levelled for Didcot five minutes before the end.
