SWIMMING: Brothers set records

Abingdon Vale brothers Alex, 17 and David Murphy, 13 broke south-east regional age group records for the 50 metre breaststroke in the level one meeting at Crawley.

Fellow member Caitlin Wheatley achieved a British Championships qualifying time in the 100m butterfly.

Boys – A Murphy (16 & over): gold 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke; silver 50m butterfly; bronze 100m freestyle. D Murphy (12-13 years): gold 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke; 200m IM, 200m breaststroke; silver 100m freestyle. M Esnouf (16 & over): bronze 200m breaststroke. Niall O'Leary (16 & over): gold 200m backstroke; silver 100m backstroke.

Girls – C Wheatley (14-15): gold 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly; silver 50m butterfly; bronze 400m IM, 200m IM. S Motha (12-13): Gold 100M backstroke, 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke.
