OXFORDSHIRE’S B team are celebrating after winning Division 2 of the seven-a-side County Championships at Reading, writes PETE EWINS.
Locked on 19 points with Surrey and Bucks third on 17, Oxon had to win their last match and did so in style – thrashing Surrey 7-0.
Captain Kevin Godfrey, Terry Cook, John Bamsey, Pete Burton, Geoff Powell, Roger Bowen and Simon Ellam made up the team.
Meanwhile, Kennington are the new leaders of the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League Premier Section after beating previous pacesetters Vikings 3-2 away.
Comrades Club defeated Didcot Conservative Club 3-2 at home, Simon Ellam leading the way with the top score of the evening of 9,530.
Section 1 pacesetters Democrats saw off Masons A 4-1, while Gladiators A head Section 2 after a 3-2 win over Marlborough.
