A goal from Jon Else saw North Leigh reach the third round of the Evo-Stik Southern League’s Red Insure Cup with a 1-0 victory at Hungerford Town.
It was a welcome return to form against a side riding high in second place in Division 1 South & West.
The goal came just before the end of a first half dominated by the Millers. Michael Hopkins’s corner was returned across goal by Toby Hopkins and Else headed home.
The visitors came under the cosh after the break, but Sam Worrall made two good saves to deny them.
Meanwhile, Ardley United will host Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division outfit Newport (IoW) in the third round of the FA Carlsberg Vase on Saturday, December 8. Fellow Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Kidlington will travel to the winners of the replay between Longwell Green Sports and Larkhall Athletic.
