OXFORD Harlequins felt there were some positive signs despite losing 57-12 at Redingensians.

Quins’ tenth defeat in 11 matches sees them ten points adrift of safety, but their young side showed some improvement.

Left wing Will Rasbridge scored Redingensians’ opening try on 11 minutes, with fly half Guy Swadling converting.

Quins equalised after a move begun by right wing Jonny Tevita ended with left wing Harry Green going over and fly half Will Hilton converting from the touchline.

Lapses in defence cost Quins dear and tries from flanker Andrew Amor and right wing Josh Smith, converted by Swadling, made it 19-7 at the break.

Flanker Rudal Aiono and Smith put the result beyond doubt with tries after half-time.

Full back Harry Whittington’s 55-metre run set up a try for supporting flanker Ramen Farahani as Quins reduced the arrears to 29-12.

But a disastrous spell between the 65th and 74th minute saw the visitors concede tries to Swadling, Aiono, Amor and Sturart Gough, all converted by Swadling.
