Didcot Town defender Lee Henderson’s season looks to be over after a double leg fracture in the 2-1 defeat at home to Swindon Supermarine.
The centre back suffered the break just above his right ankle an hour into their Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West game after a challenge with Swindon’s Sam Morris.
He was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, but did not require an operation.
The injured limb was put in plaster before he was allowed home.
Didcot press officer Steve Clare said: “It happened right in front of me.
“They both went in for the ball in a challenge. Lee tried to play on, but he was hobbling around. “It’s a real shame because his partnership with Gareth Thomas at centre back has been instrumental in our success in the cup competitions this season.”
