Headington Conservative Club cut the gap at the top of Section 2 in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League to four points with a 5-0 win at home to Dolphin.

Tim Jeffreys, Sid Ponting (3,330), Graham Mildenhall, Dave Gordon and Keith Hollis (4,230) sealed the whitewash.

Leaders Gladiators A won 3-2 at Marborough Club.

Frank Cox (6,590) took the decider after earlier wins for Gladiators by Malcolm Lee (4,730) and Bert Lovegrove had been cancelled out by Chris Iagoe and Iain Major.
