RACING: Carlton strikes for Cole in France

Paul Cole staged a successful cross-Channel raid from his Whatcombe stables, near Wantage, when Carlton Blue won at Chantilly yesterday.

The two-year-old made all the running under Christophe Soumillon to take a claiming event over six and a half furlongs by an easy three lengths.

TATISPOUT continued Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon’s winning run by landing a two-mile mares’ handicap chase at Southwell under Noel Fehily.
