Tom Arscott says London Welsh are already feeling at home in Oxford after just five matches at the Kassam Stadium.

The full back, who joined the Exiles from Worcester this summer, told how the atmosphere has been growing as his side improve on the field.

Welsh host Exeter in the LV Cup tomorrow when morale should still be high after last week’s dramatic 16-9 victory over Bath in the Premiership where a last-minute interception try from Nick Scott sealed a thrilling success.

Arscott hopes that more Oxford fans will watch them as the relegation favourites continue to defy the odds.

“We are getting some good support,” said Arscott.

“There is a great atmosphere. When Scotty took that interception to win the match against Bath, you could really hear it.

“It is great going down there to play. It is a really good pitch and set-up.

“We had a lot of bad weather last week, but the pitch held up well.”

He added: “With Sale winning, we wanted to go out and keep ourselves ahead of them and London Irish.

“We did that, but now we have to keep playing.”

There will be sibling rivalry when Exeter come to town, giving Arscott another chance to face his brother, Luke, after the Exiles’ 25-24 win in September.

The Welsh player said: “He scored last time, but I would take a win without scoring myself.

“Hopefully, we can get another win this time.”
