Premier Section leaders Vikings Club won 3-2 at West Oxford Democrats in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League, writes PETE EWINS.

Lewis Stratford (5,480), Ian Moss (8,520) and undefeated Alan Oliver, who compiled a score and break of 8,400 were victorious. Terry Green (4,260) and Billy Hill (11,410, break 10,070) replied for Democrats.

Comrades Club won 3-2 at Masons A.

Sean Stratford (10,800), Chris Storch and Simon Ellam, who triumphed on the last ball behind the black peg, struck for Comrades.

Alan Lowe (6,500) and Dave Rose (4,170) replied for Masons.

Section 2 leaders Gladiators Club A registered their fifth straight victory with a 3-2 home win over Headington Conservative Club.

Keith Gardner (7,200), Malcolm Lee, who beat Tim Jeffreys on the last ball, and Dave Jarman starred for Gladiators.

Keith Hollis (9,740, break 7,670) and Sid Ponting (8,360, break 5,670) posted victories for Headington.
