RUGBY UNION: Lamb's to the fore in cruise
10:10am Tuesday 30th October 2012 in Sport
Henry Lamb scored 21 points as Witney demolished Swanage & Wareham 51-11 in South West 1 East, despite having prop Jamie Burke sent off for a second yellow card.
Witney led 30-11 at that point and continued their dominance afterwards.
Swanage took the lead with a try and Witney finally levelled on 28 minutes when wing Carl Strutt fed centre Thom Murton to go over.
The visiting kicker and Witney fly half Henry Lamb exchanged penalties to make it 8-8 at the break.
Lock Joe Rowles bagged the first of his try double, but Witney then lost hooker Russell Todd to a knee injury.
Henry Lamb slotted a second penalty and converted a penalty try.
He then set up his twin brother, centre James Lamb, who scorched over, Henry Lamb converting for 30-8.
Burke’s sending-off spurred Witney on and Henry Lamb converted his own try.
Rowles went over for his second and man-of-the-match, flanker Tim Muller, set up full back James Monks for No 7, Henry Lamb converting both.
