Celebrity set Switch on to Brooks

THE Chipping Norton set turned out in force for a book signing by former racehorse trainer and author Charlie Brooks.

About 100 people joined Mr Brooks, pictured centre, and his wife, former chief executive officer at News International Rebekah Brooks, inset, at Jaffe and Neale for a signing of his novel, Switch, on Friday.

Among them were TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson and his wife.

This was Mr Brooks’s only event in relation to his spy thriller, and as well as signing copies, he gave a short speech.

Gerard Wales, from Jaffe and Neale, said: “It went well, was a good atmosphere and we had the fair on in the town at the same time, which was nice.

“Mr Brooks talked about how it had taken a long time to write it because he had been quite busy recently. He thanked his wife, publisher and agent.”

The shop sold 100 copies of the novel.
