An 18-year-old has been ordered to pay £1,000 compensation after wrecking a £50,000 statue in Bristol.
Jack Kennedy, of Asthall Leigh, near Witney, was caught after pictures of him climbing on the statue, outside the Royal West of England Academy in Clifton, during a night out were posted on Facebook.
The sculpture had been made by David Backhouse and had been on display for less than a month when it was vandalised in the early hours of May 29.
As well as the compensation, Kennedy was also ordered to pay £425 costs.
He admitted criminal damage at Bristol Crown Court in May 2011 and was sentenced on Monday.
